We are proud to be working with one of Europe's most respected blue chip clients. They now have an opportunity available for a Head of IT to join them in the beautiful city of Dusseldorf. This opportunity will suit a Senior IT project/ Programme manager or IT transformation specialist.
Our client are entering an exciting transformation journey and with this we introduce the new section “ETRM systems (Energy Trading and Risk management systems)” to ensure a strong focus around one of our clients key IT deliveries.
As the Head of ETRM systems you will lead a section responsible for the main trading and risk management system which is Murex, which is the backbone of the energy value chain. It is used in our clients European offices. The section also has the system management-responsibility for a system utilized for non-standard contracts and portfolio management.
Project context:
- You will work in a team of 8 people for this project.
Your daily duties will be to:
- Provide the HR responsibility for approx. seven employees across Düsseldorf, London and Oslo
- Support the team with removing obstacles for solid deliveries
- Build strong relationships and support in stakeholder management of a complex set of people across business and IT
- Build understanding of business environment and business needs
- Understand important market trends and create awareness of new opportunities with technology to support business processes
- As a member of the management team of the department Market Operations and Software Development, you will play an active role as the contributor to ensure that the totality of the deliveries of this department are successful
- This position is based in Düsseldorf and so you will report to the VP Market Operations and Software development team.
The ideal consultant has:
- A Master/university degree in science, engineering, business or economy
- A broad understanding and interest in the financial or commodity markets
- A very good understanding of trading and risk management systems
- Experience with complex IT deliveries and ITIL knowledge
- Leadership experience is key
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage a complex and demanding set of stakeholders with diverse requirements
- Structured and analytical approach with process understanding
- Self-driven, comfortable with high work pressure and a positive team player
- You have no ego, you are able to work with all stakeholders and team workers, you must be approachable
- International experience and intercultural skills are beneficial, with ability to cooperate well with others and facilitate cooperation across countries and organizational units
- Fluent in English both oral and in writing, other languages (German, Scandinavian language) are an advantage
